While students are beginning their Spring 2026 semester at BH, winter sports are in full swing.
Men’s Basketball starts the new year with an 18-4 record.
The Yellow Jackets continued their strong start to the season by winning 11 of their next 14 games. Their wins came against University of Colorado Colorado Springs (97-92), Colorado Christian (96-76), Dickinson State (81-57), Northern State (77-70), Regis (87-60), New Mexico Highlands (79-74), Colorado Mesa BHSU TEAMS (85-63), Western Colorado (86-76), Chadron State (77-59), South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (90-64) and Colorado Springs. The three losses came against MSU Denver (77-73), Fort Lewis (78-76) and CSU Pueblo (71-53). They continue the action on Feb. 12 against Colorado School of Mines.
Women’s Basketball heats up
The Women’s basketball team had a strong pickup in their next 14 games by winning 11 of 14 games. They picked up wins against University of Colorado Colorado Springs (61-56), Colorado Christian (70-48), Pontifical Catholic University Puerto Rico (91-33), University of Puerto Rico-May Mens basketball At the Dave Little Alumni Mile Open on Jan. 17, the men’s team took second with 137.5 points, and the women’s team took first with aguez Campus (77-26), Regis (89-36), MSU Denver (81-68), New Mexico Highlands (67-60), Fort Lewis (59-52), Chadron State University (67-54), South Dakota School of Mines (58-41), and Colorado State University Pueblo (60-48). Their three losses came against Colorado Mesa (62-49), Western Colorado (75-74) and Colorado Springs (73-70). They continue the action on Feb. 12 at The Young Center, playing against Colorado School of Mines.
Yellow Jacket Track and Field continues strong start
The track team continued its great start with strong performances in two of its next four track meets. 179.5 points. Their next meet was the WSC NCAA Showdown, where there was no team score, and then at the UW Invitational, the team only sent a select few and weren’t eligible for points. Their next full meet was the Don Holst Open on Jan. 31, where the men’s team took second with 110 points, and the women’s team took first with 171 points. They look to continue their great season at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D., on Feb. 13-14.
Yellow Jacket Softball starts slow
The Yellow Jacket Softball season started on Friday, Jan. 30, where they took on the University of Mary, losing 6-4. They won their next two games, taking down the University of Mary (11-5) and Minot State (8-6). They then went on to lose their next two games to Minot State (4-3) and MSU Billings (5-2) before they bounced back to win their game against MSU Billings (11-6). Following the win, the team took losses against Cameron State(2-8), Oklahoma Christian (0-10), Eastern New Mexico (1-9), Oklahoma Baptist (2-10) and Central Oklahoma (2-7). They continue their season on Feb. 21 against Adams State University.
