Black Hills State University Student Ambassadors Hannah Owens, Maddie Foster, Sam Hintgen and Sonja Pederson hand out candy and BHSU pencils at the President’s house Oct. 31.

The Black Hills State University student ambassadors handed out candy to trick-or-treaters Oct. 31 at President Tom Jackson’s house.

The ambassadors gave out candy, BHSU pencils and a variety of other small items to those who came to the door on Halloween night. Each of the student ambassador’s dressed up in Halloween costumes to help get in the spirit.

The four student ambassadors who volunteered their time said they did so as a way for them to have fun and interact with the community and the President.

Elementary education and special education major Sonja Pederson said that handing out candy to the kids who came to the door was a way to let them know that BHSU is in the community.

The student ambassadors who did not hand out candy got the chance to sit and talk to the President as a group about a wide range of topics.

President Jackson said that the treats were handed out give BHSU the opportunity to promote the school to future students and gave the university students an opportunity to give back to the community.
